Founded in August 1966, Shaanxi Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. (SPCL) is a joint-stock pharmaceutical manufacturing enterprise, which is incorporated through an overall restructuring of the former Shaanxi Pharmaceutical Factory. Located at No. 68 Qinleng Nanlu. Following decades of assiduous hard work and development, the company has cultivated a rigorous and highly skilled production and operation management team, with all kinds of its professional and technical personnel accounting for more than 60% of all its employees. At the end of 2013, the company won China’s 2010 national pharmaceuticals GMP certification.

Currently owning four productions lines of drug tablets, capsules, water pills, and concentrated pills, SPCL is a holder of 63 State drug approval licenses, including 51 specifications for tablets, 8 specifications for capsules, and 4 specifications for pills (2 for concentrated pills and another 2 for water pills) and another 1 for Ganoderma lucidum spore capsules. It also holds 10 approval licenses for traditional Chinese medicines. Among them, the Six-Tastes Rehmannia Soft Capsule branded "Qinli" has been awarded as "Customer Preferred Brand for Product Quality & User Satisfaction in the Chinese Market" for many years. And its liver-restoring tablets, lipid-decreasing tablets, and anti-cough & phlegm-relieving pills are favored by the vast number of patients for their reliable quality and stable curative effect. Of all its products, 51 product specifications are incorporated into the national medical insurance catalog (27 Category A varieties and 24 Category B varieties). 11 of the products are ones accepted as bid-winning drugs in the collective bid invitations held by Shaanxi provincial government for “Three Unified Actions” (Unified Purchase, Unified Prices and Unified Distribution). 20 have fallen into drug categories of OTC specifications (8 in category A and 12 in category B). Its ganoderma lucidum spore capsule, which is as a mid-to-high-end health food, has won high praises from huge number of tumor patients and users with high-end healthcare needs with its unique technological process and special curative effects.

In order to achieve SPCL’s goal of long-term stable and high-quality development, it is necessary to implement this project because of its current poor capacities of hardware and facilities, and insufficient production capacity. In view of the current situation of SPCL’s hardware and facilities, we will expand and restructure the existing plants and workshops. That is, we will purchase advanced production equipment units and adjust arrangements of the existing comprehensive workshop to provide functional houses for promoting production capacities, improving product quality and increasing number of new drug varieties.

The planned land area for this project is approximately 23.2 acres, with the total construction area being about 45,000m². Approximately 24,000m² is planned for the production workshops while approximately 20,000m² and 500m² are planned for R&D building and the raw material warehouse respectively. The research and develop will focus on drugs for respiratory system, cardiovascular system, anti-infection and anti-virus fields. The production will cover nitroglycerin solution, main raw material used for making quick-acting heart reliever pills for treatment of hypertension and angina pectoris, and nitroglycerin tablets, compound pentaerythritol nitrate tablets, and nifedipine tablets, which are sold to both domestic and overseas markets.
